How customer funds are held
Shaheen Money does not hold your money and does not own it. It is a self-custodial, decentralised wallet: your balance stays under your own control, and Shaheen Money acts only as the intermediary that carries out your instructions.

What a digital dollar is
A digital dollar in your Shaheen Money wallet is a stablecoin: a digital token designed to keep a value of one US dollar. In the United States, the GENIUS Act of July 2025 sets the rules for payment stablecoins: a permitted issuer must back them at least one to one with reserves such as US dollars, insured bank deposits and short-term Treasury bills, publish the make-up of those reserves every month, and have that report examined each month by a registered public accounting firm. A stablecoin is not a bank deposit, is not insured by the FDIC, and is not issued by Shaheen Money. Your balance keeps its dollar value until you use it, instead of following your local currency.
